“Fantastically funny” – The Times
“Delightfully offbeat writing. A talent for sure” – Chortle
“A real sparky presence onstage… ebullient and witty” –Londonisfunny.com
“Star of the future” – Time Out

Shazia Mirza: “Her laconic one-liners represent something quite unique in modern comedy. In these fraught times, she actually manages to make being a Muslim woman seem wonderfully life-enhancingly funny. Anglo-Islamic understanding is now even more elusive than before, but if anything, that makes Shazia’s comedy even more vailid, and even more vital” GUARDIAN GUIDE

 Acts on the night:10628006_540106339451057_2725286203376210442_n

Andrew O’Neill: Andrew O’Neill isn’t your usual stand-up comedian. Yes, he tells jokes. Yes, he makes you laugh. But he does it all with an innate sense of absurdism and silliness, and proudly displays one of the most inventive comic minds around today. Why tell a joke when you can sing it? Why not tell the masses about the celebrities who live in London’s sewer system? Why not pepper your performance with increasingly funny and bizarre non-sequiteurs? Highly inventive and extremely funny, Andrew has risen like warm air in a comparatively cold room ever since his debut in 2002. He’s done primetime comedy with Steve Coogan, dabbled in reality TV, and had dozens of sketches broadcast on Radio 1.
“keeping the true flame of creativity burning bright” TimeOut
“so funny I put him in my new TV show” Steve Coogan

Holly Burn: Holly is a stand up and character comedian. She is also a trained actress who went on to study clown under Philippe Gaulier.
“THE ONE TO WATCH 2013 – Vivacious character comedian Holly Burn’s mixture of the madcap, the surreal and the downright deranged has become more and more beguiling over the past few years. Harry Hill recently joined an ever-growing number of people enthusing about this kooky Geordie lass.”- THE INDEPENDENT
“Best comedy newcomer” – HARRY HILL – THE RADIO TIMES December 2012
“Like a holiday camp run by clowns and deviants… there’s plenty of fun to be had”- THE GUARDIAN

Jay Foreman

jay_foreman_edinburgh_2011

Jay is a guitarist/comedian whose unique repetoire falls almost exactly halfway betweenlive music and sit-down comedy. Flitting violently between subtle humour, catchy singalongs and mindless bad taste, Jay is drawing considerable attention even from people who aren’t students anymore. Achievements include BBC New Talent Pick of the Fringe, ‘best newcomer’ at the Tuborg Musical Comedy Awards 2009 and ‘finalist’ at the Musical Comedy Awards 2010. One of his songs is covered and played regularly by muscial comedy veterans Kit and the Widow. Jay can’t decide whether he’s happy about being known on youtube as the guy who wrote ‘Moon Chavs’.
“Clever lyrics, good music and never ever dull. This is a talented guy.” – (EdFringe.com)
