2008 Chortle Best Newcomer Nominee Nat Luurtsema is an award-winning stand-up comedian, author, radio presenter, comedy writer and one third of critically acclaimed sketch group Jigsaw with Dan Antopolski and Tom Craine. As a stand-up comic, Nat was a finalist in most of the new act competitions and nominated for the Chortle Best Newcomer Award within her first eight months on-stage. She has since gigged around the country’s comedy clubs, in The Comedy Zone at the Edinburgh Comedy Festival and has supported Russell Kane and Isy Suttie on tour.
“Nat Luurtsema is definitely an original thinker. Her inventive, witty routines demonstrate a wonderfully warped logic, taken to the limits of imagination.” Chortle

Barry Ferns has been writing and performing comedy since he was 17 years old. At that tender age won the Glastonbury Festival Comedy competition and reached the semi final of “So you think you’re funny”. He was described by Bristol’s “Venue Magazine” as “sickeningly talented” and by Matt Lucas as “One of the best new acts I have ever seen”. He promptly gave up stand-up for 15 years (To pursue Sketch Comedy). As a writer of Sketch Comedy he wrote for BBC Radio 1, BBC Radio 4 and for E4. In March 2008 he began Writing, Producing and Directing a series of 12 short comedy films which were completed in September 2011. He finally started stand-up again in September 2010 (he made a few attempts in 2008 as well, but they lacked conviction). He now runs two successful comedy nights in London, and performs up and down the country every week.

Chris has a phenomenal internet following on his own YouTube channel with over 150k subscribers and over 10 million hits, as well as over 42K followers on Twitter. His amazing success is down to the plethora of imaginative and very funny videos he’s written and performed online over the last 3-4 years. He has also appeared on many TV programmes including: Live at the Electric, Series 2 (BBC 3), Watson and Oliver Series 2 (BBC 2) & Cuckoo (BBC 3)
Peter White thinks he’s hilarious. Other people seem to agree. Born in a small town in Nova Scotia, Canada, Peter has gone on to accomplish a lot in a short time. He recorded his own hour long Comedy Network stand up special, was nominated for Canadian Comedy Award and a Writer’s Guild of Canada Award, and appeared in a TV miniseries with Pierce Brosnan. He’s performed all across Canada, including the prestigious Just For Laugh’s international comedy festival in Montreal, and has written for various television shows, including the multiple Gemini award winning political satire show “This Hour Has 22 Minutes”
